FRISCO, Texas, Jul 24, 2014 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Black Book Rankings today released the 2014 Black Book™ “Top Ranked Financial Services and Software Vendors, Value-Based Care and Accountable Care Organizations (ACO)” survey, ranking Conifer Health Solutions as the No. 1 provider of value-based care solutions to Medicare and commercial ACOs.

Black Book™ evaluated leading healthcare service providers from the point of view of the user/client. Respondents gave Conifer Health high marks for its expertise in end-to-end financial ACO support functions, including claims reimbursement payments, capitation and risk stratification/management, cost accounting utilization performance, and payer/provider connectivity and interoperability. According to Black Book™, more than 600 ACOs participated in the evaluation.

“We are always honored to be recognized as a top performer in the healthcare industry,” said Megan North, president of Conifer Health Solutions’ Value-Based Care business unit. “The Black Book results not only affirm Conifer Health’s pioneering experience with accountable care organizations, but also that healthcare leaders have a clear preference for a knowledgeable, single-source partner.”

The survey found that 86 percent of all hospital CFOs and 90 percent of ACO executives agree that without a strong financial solutions vendor to provide value-based reimbursement software, outsourced services and support, and consulting, they will be forced to opt out of many key risk-based contract opportunities.

The results of the Black Book™ survey reflect Conifer Health’s 20 years of expertise developing and implementing value-based care services and solutions for nearly 300 clients. In addition to Medicare and commercial ACOs, Conifer Health’s clients include clinical integration networks, full risk-bearing providers, hospitals, health systems, physicians and self-funded employers.

Conifer Health’s No. 1 Black Book™ ranking follows recent accolades for the Value-Based Care business unit including recognition as an early leader in population health management, as well as receipts of NCQA certification and URAC reaccreditation.

The Financial Services and Software survey, which was released today, is the first in a three-part series of ACO Infrastructure surveys. Subsequent Black Book™ surveys will review Clinical Integration and Support and Business Intelligence and Analytics.
