New Media Specialist – Black Book Polls 1407

DESCRIPTION
For over 15 years, Black Book has had its finger on the pulse of global business opinions. We’re looking for someone with the right skills to help us communicate our insights to new audiences in new ways.
Reporting to a Black Book Content Manager, this position is responsible for helping to produce Black Book Poll content, develop media relations and marketing strategies. With a focus on strengthening awareness of Black Book surveys and polls, the diversity of its offerings and its overall level of thought leadership, this specialist will help develop topics for Black Book Poll columns, explore new ways to share Black Book results, manage inbound media requests and coordinate a range of communications programs, including social media/online communications and content management.
Black Book Poll Content/Topic Development (pre-fielding)
Actively seek out and “pitch” new ideas worthy of consideration for Black Book Poll topics
Work with internal Black Book teams to explore and develop new topic areas

Design
Take “ownership” of select Black Book Poll topics
Write sections of monthly basic survey from outline with moderate oversight, working closely with various stakeholders for each month’s survey as needed
Sample/Survey Programming
Review survey instrument & test for field readiness

Analysis/Reporting
Perform basic analysis
Write select Black Book Poll Columns
Prepare alternative media Black Book Poll releases, including “top 10” lists, basic infographics, etc.
Explore new ways to produce dynamic, engaging Black Book Poll content
Participate in media and/or internal client presentations

Exposure and Monitoring
Manage social media and new media output and profile of Harris Poll content
Monitor Harris Poll coverage in print, online, TV and radio
Take a lead role in publishing content to Harris Poll branded social media channels and monitoring of social media and online interactions to gather research and insights

Working with Media
Respond to basic media inquiries with minimal oversight
Work to establish partnership with online media outlets; assist in developing relationships with major media outlets

Qualifications
2-3 years of experience in media relations/integrated marketing functions.
Developing expertise in media relations and understanding of how media, including social media, can be leveraged effectively. Proficient in other communications disciplines, including marketing communications and internal communications.
Excellent writing/editing skills across a variety of media and purposes (blogs, releases, articles, etc.) and a “nose for news.”
Solid understanding of research and analytical best practices.
Ability to focus and understand needs and requirements of external audiences, including clients/prospects and media. Proficient in taking complex data/information and simplifying it into key points. Ability to ensure consistency with corporate messaging.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with desired media outlets and/or bloggers. Ability to communicate effectively at executive level.
Strong project management skills, ability to complete tasks on tight deadlines, ability to multi-task on multiple high priority projects and escalate as necessary.
Experience using social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn) and monitoring/publishing tools to support social media strategy and industry intelligence efforts.
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Experience designing presentations and sales collateral using PowerPoint and InDesign.
Ability to coordinate and work virtually across Nielsen’s corporate communications teams.
Ability to seek opportunities to improve the operational effectiveness of our team.

Research Manager – Black Book Healthcare -1041

Black Book is hiring Research Managers. This is an important, full-time position at Black Book Market Research, one which leads to specialized roles, including Project Management, Report Writing, Research Analysis, Market Analysis, Consulting Services, or Sales.

Responsibilities
Advise project teams on use of different survey research methods, questionnaire and sample designs
Program telephone and web surveys in our web based survey software.
Clean, format, and manage samples and large customer databases.
Test, monitor, and implement surveys with our telephone interviewing center as well as with web survey participants.
This position requires strong survey research skills and computer skills, including expert knowledge of Excel and proficiency in a statistical package such as SPSS or STATA. The candidate must have an understanding of survey statistics, strong analytical skills, be detailed-oriented, and able to work a fast paced environment.
The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in positions of increasing responsibility in survey research or related field and experience managing projects. Qualifications
Master’s Degree in social sciences or survey research and 5-7 years professional survey research experience. Candidates with bachelor’s degrees will be considered with more extensive survey research work experience.
Work experience designing and managing large-scale survey projects.
Experience with telephone survey design and methodology including knowledge of cell phone sampling and industry best practices.
Experience with survey methodology and survey operations, such as questionnaire design, cognitive interviews, survey administration, and data analysis
Experience using survey platforms and/or javascript for forms development
